We are thrilled to welcome two experienced members to our clinical team.

Bret Dorsett and Tamara Garden both have a passion for working with adolescent girls
and bring a wealth of experience working with trauma, mood disorders and
substance abuse.

BretBret Dorsett – MSC, LAC, NCC – Primary Therapist

Bret is a Licensed Associate Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with experience helping children and families in crisis.

He received his Master of Science in Counseling and an undergraduate degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Bret has been working in education and healthcare for the past 15 years, the last three of which with adolescent females exclusively. His primary clinical emphasis is on trauma and addiction, and he has worked extensively with survivors of domestic abuse. Bret has facilitated support groups on rational emotive behavior therapy, attachment, trauma, and parenting.

He received specialized training in EMDR, attachment and trauma intervention, and substance abuse and addictions. Bret is married with three daughters.

As a family, they enjoy hiking, camping, and watching movies together.




TamaraTamara Garden – LAC – Primary Therapist

Tamara Garden moved from Northwest Indiana to Sedona, Arizona in 2013.

Tamara approaches the counseling process with a narrative approach which allows an understanding of the uniqueness of each individual. She then implements specific therapeutic techniques based on each persons’ needs.

Some of Tamara’s specialized education includes child development, ADHD in children and adults, disruptive behavior disorders, substance abuse, and bullying. She has over five years of experience dealing with depression and anxiety disorders. She is also EMDR trained by the EMDR Institute which allows her to provide effective therapy treatment of trauma.

Tamara is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology as well as her minor in Creative Writing. She is a graduate of Valpariaso University, where she earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is licensed in the state of Arizona.

Having raised three daughters, Tamara is passionate about helping adolescent girls develop sound boundaries and a positive sense of self. In her spare time, Tamara enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the piano, painting, and spending time with her family.


Located just outside Sedona, Arizona, Sedona Sky Academy is a fully licensed and accredited residential treatment center serving adolescent girls ages 13-18 who may be experiencing family or peer conflict, academic failure, self-esteem issues, drug or alcohol use, and more.
