Program Description

The Experiential Healing Institute focuses on "training" Parents and families to understand and work with loved ones who struggle with mental or behavioral needed/on-call support for families who are in transition from Wilderness or residential back to the home. 3 Main Services: (1) Prevention and Intervention: We help prepare families for Interventions, create processes and plans for better outcomes in the home to try and prevent the need for high levels of care. We work with parents to create behavior plans for kids of all ages while working to open new ways of working with Autism, ahealth difficulties. We provide in home skills training's for families at all stages of needing help including Parents looking for support getting started in understanding what is happening, Families where the child or young adult is already engaged in a program such as Wilderness Therapy or Residential Care and also we provide as ddiction, ADHD and any other challenges the family is facing. The training is focused on allowing the Parents and family to "understand" what it is going to take to prevent the need for future care. (2) Parent training and processes: for families that "want more" and want to really invest in learning to be different and how to prepare for face to face time with their loved one in the future. This process is usually in partnership with the wilderness or residential program so that the information and training allow for a "change process" that compliments and prepares the family for a future together. (3) Transition Preparation and Process: Service provides in home training and the creation of a "HOME PROGRAM" that includes either scheduled calls or "on Call" as needed" support for Parents and for the Child/Young Adult to integrate what has been experienced and learned from their programs into the "real world".
