Program Description

Alpine Academy is an RTC that serves adolescent girls between ages 12 and 18.

Alpine Academy is situated at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains in a rural community just 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake City.

Our 35 acre campus is comprised of seven beautiful homes, Academic, Clinical, and Fitness and Arts buildings, garden, orchard, sports field, riding arena, and plenty of pasture. Alpine believes in a synergistic approach to the healing process by integrating the efforts of the Clinical, Academic, and Residential teams in order to help each student develop the necessary skills to stop merely surviving life and to start truly living it.

The backbone of this approach is our accreditation in the Teaching-Family Model which is recognized as evidence-based by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration and the American Psychological Association. Trained and certified married couples live in and run our homes. Alpine is an accredited school through AdvancEd and is a certified non-public school for several states. Our goal is a traditional school setting with an innovative approach to meet the special academic needs of our students.

NCLB highly-qualified teachers are in the front of every classroom performing direct instruction. Our full-time guidance counselor works with the rest of the academic team to ensure each student is on track for graduation.

Master’s level clinicians lead individual, family, and group therapy sessions weekly. Alpine recognizes that no single modality works best for every student, and our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities such as DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, EMDR, and EGALA.

Our goal is to give them the tools they need to individualize treatment for each student. Sand-tray, Music, and Art therapy are available for those students that require a more hands-on approach.

Alpine implements a family-systems approach and aftercare is provided for all families.
